Monik resigned from IML in 2007 (his wife contracted serious illness), then afterwards went on to create his own investment fund in late 2009 based upon his core beliefs and observations built over a long career - Insync Funds Management. Rather than follow the path of most peers in attracting headline scale, either at unprofitable margins or giving away substantial equity, Monik selected a handful of private investors aligned to his long-term perspective. Whilst this resulted in a slower growth trajectory initially, it has meant retained control, revenues, and time to properly refine and prove the outcome for unitholders.
