Every generation has believed it was fundamentally different from the one before. But what looks like behavioural change is often contextual adaptation a reflection of the tools and systems available at the time. In the 1920s, cars and telephones redefined mobility and connection. In the 1950s, television reorganised family attention around a screen. In the 1990s, the internet reframed how we communicated and consumed. And now, for Gen Z, the digital interface isn’t a layer on top of life. It is life.
